Description
The bacterial load of the sample is determined in well 1A with a new linear seeding principle, using a 10 µl calibrated loop. With the help of the graduated scale printed on the plate, the sample charge expressed in CFU/ml is quickly obtained.
The isolation is particularly careful and is safe even in the presence of samples with high bacterial loads, thanks to the introduction of a specific linear well 1B, parallel to the one used for counting.
Linear sowing also allows you to dilute any antibiotics or chemical inhibitors present in the samples which, with classic immersion systems, determine a total inhibition of colony growth and therefore false negatives. Thanks to the transparent support, the visualization of the colonies is more accurate, especially in cases of mixed cultures (Polymicrobial).
The Linearcount 3 terrain support contains:
-
Columbia CNA Blood Agar (capable of inhibiting Gram negative bacteria, highlighting the Gram positive cocci staphylococci, enterococci and streptococci. The presence of sheep blood allows highlighting the haemolytic capacities, especially those of the streptococci)
-
Mac Conkey Agar (for the isolation and enumeration of enterobacteria, it also allows the growth of Pseudomonas)
-
Mannitol Salt Agar (used for the isolation of Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase positive staphylococci)
Packaging:
-
10 Linearcount 3
-
10 loops 10 μl for sowing.
