Description

High quality peptone, containing a high amount of different peptides and amino acids derived from digestion of animal tissues selected, obtained by the use of trypsin and papain.

Dissolved in distilled water gives a clear solution and shows no precipitate in the presence of the other constituents; maintains these characteristics even after sterilization in an autoclave.

Because of its high nutritional quality, is usable in the preparation of many media for general use for the cultivation of a wide range of micro-organisms. Its use is also useful in media to biochemical tests for bacterial identification, such as production of indole or hydrogen sulfide.
