Description

URI DIFFERENTIAL AGAR is a non-selective medium developed by Microbiol for enumeration, isolation, identification and differentiation of urinary tract bacteria. Growth can be displayed after 12-18 hours. The confirmation test (indole) can be performed directly on the culture medium.

The medium allows a clear chromogenic differentiation of the following bacteria:

• Escherichia coli  (Dark pink, Reddish colonies)
• Klebsiella ,Enterobacter (Metallic blue with or without purple halo colonies)
• Proteus  (Brown with halo colonies)
• Staphylococcus aureus (Small white colonies)
• Pseudomonas (Translucent transparent colonies)
• Enterococcus (Small turquoise colonies)
